In some cases printer manufactures support the ability to define their own dot patterns through a plug in interface of the RIP.  This allows special needs and print quality controls to be handled by the printer manufacturer during the ripping process.

Specific features and results printing with OEM dot patterns are managed within the OEM dot pattern configuration dialogs.
