From the Media Manager Home window click > Reports and Tools > Profile Grade Mode

You can compare 2 profiles for the same printer/media, depending on your purpose. There are 6 target market categories, each with specific goals that are weighted differently for the media.  and pertain to the information for the media. These include: ICC profile (delta e), resolution, #passes, ink restrictions, speed, color fidelity and more...

  • FineArt
  • CAD
  • Signage
  • POP
  • Proofing
  • Photographic

For example, if you need a good Photographic profile, you would see which media gives you the highest Photographic score (which has been weighted more for high resolution, multiple passes and where quality is more important than speed).

To use Media Grading use the following steps:

  1. Select your Media Group, Media, and Mode using the drop-down lists.
  2. When you have made your selections, click Update
  3. Media Manager will calculate and display the grade for each use.

The higher the score, the better that particular media is suited to that particular use. The scores are arbitrary and should not be used to compare one printer to another. Instead, the scores should be used to compare a printer's ability to produce one type of output as opposed to another type of output.
