Media Manager Profiling Guide Version 7 : Profiling For Spot Color Matching
This page last changed on Aug 22, 2008 by johannaf.
When you want to match a specific color system using a different ink system, the best way to achieve the desired results is to compare the primary ink density and hue. Most color "chip" charts have a primary CMYK swatch. These swatches are the base for all other mixes, therefor you can match the chip chart to the ink restriction swatch when looking for the percentage to use on your digital printer to simulat the specific color system. For example, if your focus is matching PANTONE color, in the PANTONE swatch book on the first few pages you will find patches that represent CMYK. Visually or using a color sampling device match the density or hue when determining your Ink Restrictions. Back to Tips & Tricks. |
