Profiling for VarDot has been simplified with the implementation of "Enhanced" Ink Configurations. This is a new coverage curve technology that allows you to address this device as if it were a non-VarDot. This means that the steps are very much the same except you choose an "Enhanced" Ink Configuration from the printer capabilities menu before you begin.  This will make any VarDot selections transparent to the user.

Another method is to choose a "Legacy" Ink Configuration which includes the Drop Size Control step. This step is more manual and requires the user to determine the best possible placement while striving for overall saturation and smoothness. The ONYX lab has moved away from supporting this workflow and recommends user use the "Enhanced" methodology.

VarDot printers use the smallest dot when printing light inks.
