The Media Library allows you to see all the media that are available to you. The media seen are specific to the printer that is displayed in the upper right-hand field. You can change the library view for a different printer by changing the selection from the drop-down list.

From the Media Library, you can Import, Export, Delete, Make a Copy of, or Rename any existing media.

  • You can import a media from an .oml or .prninst file.
  • You can import an ICC file (created with a 3rd party ICC Engine) into the library as long as you have already setup a media name and the other steps have been completed.
    • Highlight the media and extract the folder structure to the desired mode level.
    • Click > Import ICC and the file is added to a newly created ICC folder.
    • Use the right-click menu options to make sure it has a green check mark. This indicates that is it set as the default.
  • Export is used to back-up or package for distribution.
  • Making a copy of e media is recommended if you want to keep the original file in tact and make some changes.
  • Rename allows you to simplify the naming convention or better describe the media properties.

You can also create a New Media or mode or Editing Existing Media Profiles using the <Edit> button or the right-click menu.

All of the media profiles you have installed or created are organized in the library. You can expand or contract each folder by clicking on the +/- icon.

  • The main folders are usually media configuration groups or ink configuration names.
  • Within each media name there are sub-folders for modes.
  • Each mode folder contains the files that make up the profile.
  • The "Default" file is designated with a green check box next to the file name.  With the file name selected you can use the right-click menu to Delete, Set as Default, or edit.

The media library updates all of the media selections within ONYX. This means one you have installed, imported or created a media it is available for use within RIP-Queue, Preflight and Layout. You can also import a media within RIP-Queue > Configure Printer> Media tab to update the media library.

Back to Media Manager.
